Corrections
When we are wrong, we say so.
A check is only useful if it can be corrected in public. This is how to report a problem and what we do with it.
Report a problem
Tell us what is wrong.
Email hello@pluribuslabs.com with the address of the claim or check, what you think is wrong, and a source for it.
A source matters more than an argument. A primary record or a rated outlet that contradicts the verdict is what moves it.
You can also re-verify a claim yourself from its page. That re-reads it against today’s sources and is charged like a check.
What we do
Re-verify, then record.
An editor reads every report. If the report has a source, the claim is re-verified with that source in view.
If the verdict changes, the claim page shows the new verdict, the date, and the earlier verdict in its history. The change is added to the log below.
If the verdict stands, the claim’s history still shows that it was re-verified and when.
A published check can be revoked. A revoked page is removed, not edited to look as if it never said what it said.
The method itself is on the methodology page.
